Looking up lighting ideas - Chiaroscuro
This shows a tutorial for the basic steps to acheive Film Noir lighting
The term "chiaroscuro" was coined during the Renaissance to describe its use by painters---"chiaro" meaning light and "scuro" me a Chiaroscuro lighting emphasises the contrast of light and dark to give an illusion of depth and to create volumeaning dark. Film Noir was created in the early 1940's to the late 1950's, where films where based on stylish Hollywood crime dramas especially attitudes and sexual motivation, which associated with low key black and white.
Film noir are films that are associated with low key lighting mostly as you are unable to see the actor’s full face clearly, there are shadows to give away that it is a low key lighting shot. This is used to give the sense of mystery and not knowing what is going to happen.

This is our script for our new idea for our production, both Connor and myself are very excited about completing this project with our new ideas. To date we do not have a set title yet, as we have many ideas of what this piece could be called.
